The Shared Land Celebration

The Shared Land Celebration is a 2-day multicultural event that brings together all those who have lived on the land at Herschel, Sk. over the past 2,000 years. Representatives of the Blackfoot, Cree, and Gros Ventre will be present at the event and a number of powerful presentation will be given on The Doctrine of Discovery, The Treaties, The Metis Story, Tipi and Medicine Wheel teachings, along with hikes to the petroglyphs, turtle effigy, ceremonial circles, buffalo jump, food processing area, storytelling, etc. A prayer service with music and Pow wow dancers will take place Sunday morning at the teaching/prayer stone. This one-of-a-kind event is a Canada 150 Event.
