SUBMISSION FORM

This award recognises commitment to the conservation of Saskatchewan heritage places, including archaeological sites, buildings, cultural landscapes and engineering works, ensuring that the heritage value of these places is protected. It also considers projects that protect the heritage value of a place and are innovative in the approach to achieving this.

Nominees must reside, or for businesses, operate within the Province of Saskatchewan. Projects must have been completed within the last 3 years and have not previously received a Lieutenant Governor’s Heritage Award.

SUBMISSION CONSIDERATIONS

The information that you provide will be used by the Jury to make their decision. Please ensure you have provided evidence that demonstrates why your project is exemplary. If you have additional information to provide, feel free to do so (this is optional).

The Jury will be making their decisions based on the following:

The identification of heritage value
The identification of the vision of this project
Best practices in the preservation, rehabilitation and/or restoration of heritage places - Recognition of community-led heritage conservation projects
How this project contributes to the social, environmental, cultural, and/or economic wellbeing in the community

Please note that Jury decisions are final and individual score sheets will not be made available following the Jury deliberations.

SUBMISSION ELEMENTS

Section A. Brief history (to include date of construction, original owner, original architect, chronology of occupancies, chronology of alterations) and demonstrate the heritage value of the site, referencing the Statement of Significant and Character Defining Elements, if applicable, or other supporting material:

Section B. Details of current project (date of completion, description of heritage features involved, description of work done, any achievements); demonstrate what the problem was and how it was overcome:

Section C. Explain why you feel that this project is deserving of this special recognition:

Provide a list of accompanying materials:

Include at least three photographs showing the detailed primary elevation ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots. Provide a short description of each photo in the space provided.

SUBCONTRACTORS & OTHERS

Provide names & coordinates of subcontractors and/or ALL those who have contributed to this project, including those who will be recognized if this project is chosen as an award recipient. This should include property owners, subcontractors, and project partners who directly worked on the project and deserve recognition. This does not include funders or sponsors.
