Staying in Touch With Our Heritage - Why Should You Take Out a Heritage Saskatchewan Membership?

The start of December is an exciting time for Heritage Saskatchewan! We are gearing up for the December 7th release of our Covid-19 Culture publication, and teacher registration has begun for our Heritage Fairs program. But today, the 1st of December, marks the start of membership renewal.

In keeping with our mission, it is important to us that we influence and inform new thinking about heritage. And since we feel that staying in touch with our culture and heritage is more important now than ever before given this precarious time, we invite everyone to become a member of our organization. Members benefit from an exclusive first look at our publications and research, which often explore topical issues affecting everyone in Saskatchewan, including wellness and the economy, aging, Covid-19, food security, etc. As our definition of living heritage implies, it’s important to know where we’ve been so we know where we’re going.

As a non-profit organization, we are funded by SaskLotteries, and also supported by our members. Our membership ensures that we can continue important research and community-based work. Members can also get involved by voting at our Annual General Meeting and be nominated for a seat on the Board of Directors.

Our Honorary Lifetime Member, Kristin Enns-Kavanagh explains, “My membership to Heritage Saskatchewan is important to me. It’s a way to show my support for the essential work of promoting heritage in the province. I particularly like that I’m supporting research and promotion of living heritage – the less-tangible stories and traditions that tell us who we are. I also like the opportunities it affords me to be part of a larger network of heritage practitioners in the province.”

As an additional perk, we have once again partnered with the National Trust for Canada, offering a 30% discount to their membership, using the promo code HeritageHS.

We welcome everyone to browse our website and read our research, living heritage projects, and other publications. We hope it will compel you to join our organization and support our efforts in research, community resilience, and leadership. Join Today!
