Main Street Saskatchewan communities win several Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Architectural Heritage Awards

On Tuesday June 9, the Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan handed out its 2015 Heritage Awards and a number of Main Street Saskatchewan communities and projects were amongst the 10 projects recognized the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. The winners included projects in three of the original Main Street Saskatchewan Demonstration Program communities: Maple Creek - The Maple Creek Main Street Project was recognized under the Long-Term Stewardship category. Indian Head - The Fire Hall in Indian Head was also recognized under the category of Long Term Stewardship. Prince Albert - The Trading Block Building in Prince Albert was recognized under the Rehabilitation category. The winners also included a project in one of the Affiliate Main Street Saskatchewan communities Humboldt - The Merchants Bank of Canada was recognized under the Rehabilitation category.
