First World War Anniversary Commemoration 2014

First World War Anniversary: (August 4, 2014)

On August 4, 2014, Heritage Saskatchewan was invited to participate in an anniversary event held at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. As part of this event, students who had created Heritage Fairs projects on the First World War were invited to attend and display their projects to visitors and dignitaries.

Eight students and their families came to spend their Saskatchewan Day Monday at the Legislature:

Ethan Joyce & Nolan Marsden-Beck, Canada in World War One (Grade 6, Ecole Connaught Community School)

Tess Edmonds, Georgina Fane Pope (Grade 8, Kipling School)

Skylah Mysko, Georgina Pope (Grade 8, Meadow Lake Christian Academy)

Maria Tunall, John Alexander McCrae (Grade 8, Caronport Elementary School)

Paige Carline, John McCrae (Grade 4, Westmount School)

Clay Devine, Vimy Ridge (Grade 6, Ecole St. Paul School)
