Common Threads: Weaving a Stronger Nonprofit Sector

“Common Threads: Weaving a Stronger Nonprofit Sector” is a FREE conference that will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Luther College at the University of Regina. It is co-hosted by VSSN and the Saskatchewan Nonprofit Partnership (SNP). Featuring Bruce McDonald (president and CEO, Imagine Canada), Dr. Cindy Hanson (Faculty of Education, University of Regina), Jeph Maystruck (co-founder, Strategy Lab) and Dr. Gloria DeSantis (founder of VSSN, Faculty of Justice Studies, University of Regina). Our goals for this gathering are to: -discuss trends for which NPOs need to be prepared; -explore the big picture on policy and advocacy; -offer updates about VSSN & SNP; and -provide the opportunity for networking, panel discussions and interactive break-out sessions. The day will include keynote speaker Bruce MacDonald, followed by four interactive workshops facilitated by presenters. Lunch will be provided and the afternoon will comprise a second round of interactive workshops. The afternoon will conclude with a launch of "The Shifting Terrain: Nonprofit Policy Advocacy in Canada" (June 2017), co-edited by Dr. Gloria DeSantis.
